As a teacher and a musician, my primary goal is that my students develop an enthusiastic appreciation of music that they can carry throughout their lives. I always looked forward to school days that had music classes as a child, and I hope to be able to provide that same excitement to my students.
Bachelor of Music- University of British Columbia (2015)
Masters of Music- Indiana University (2017)
Bachelor of Education- University of Calgary (2021)
I grew up in Okotoks, Alberta. As a young child, I began taking piano lessons. I began teaching piano at the age of 15 and have been teaching privately ever since. I developed a love for the French horn in grade 6 band class and that love has taken me on a beautiful journey. I went to Vancouver for my Bachelor of Music degree in performance and then moved to Indiana to pursue my Masters of Music. After finishing my degree, I returned home to Canada and won a position with the Kamloops Symphony. While living in Calgary, I traveled back and forth for 3 years as their principal horn. I freelanced in Calgary and was also running my private music studio, teaching lessons to individuals ages 3-50. I loved every minute of my private lessons and soon realized that I wanted to teach full time. I then began my Education degree at the U of C. I still play and perform on my horn and love to share my passion for music with my students.
